Philly Mini Maker Faire adventure

AAPlasma team participated in the 2nd Annual Philly Maker Faire. What helped a lot is this was hosted at the Pennovation Works—our new home. This event was of great importance to us: this is the first time our growing company had an opportunity to present our work to the public together, as a team. The Faire “had over 1000 attendees and around 350 makers,” tells us Jono Matusky, one of the organizers.

Take a look at the highlights from the event:

We had many productive and insightful discussions.

The plasma misting system worked extremely well! As engineers [and makers!] we were all very excited to see the system we built function without a single glitch for the entire day! Even the cheap $0.50 lasers that we use to visualize the chamber filling with plasma-treated fog didn’t fail throughout the demo.

Our display didn’t have the table cloth (forgot to buy) but at least we had some water (courtesy of the organizers). Whew!

This turned out to be a very well-attended event and we had… whew… close to a hundred very productive discussions. Feedback and advice we’ve received we have all carefully recorded and will incorporate some of it into the future design iterations of our systems.

The event itself was great, too. The food options were great [whoops, we were busy so missed the beer] and the bands did a superb job onstage.

Of course, no Maker event is complete without some kind of a robot dog…

Our team is applauding the staff of Pennovation Works and Philly Maker Faire for putting together a smooth and productive event. Cheers from your friends at AAPlasma. Stop by, say Hi :-)
