AAPlasma is Awarded DLA Phase II SBIR

AAPlasma is proud to announce that we have been chosen by the Defense Logistics Agency to receive Phase II funding for of our project “Extending Fresh Fruits and Vegetables (FF&V) Shelf Life Through Novel Technology in the Subsistence Supply Chain” as part of their 2019 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) funding.

In Phase II of this project, AAPlasma will continue working with the DLA to further develop our non-equilibrium plasma-based solution to safeguard consumers from food-borne pathogens. These pathogens are one of the largest risks to our nation’s food supply and cost the United States a staggering $55,000,000,000 every year! After validating our approach in Phase I, AAPlasma will use Phase II to bring this technology significantly closer to commercialization.

AAPlasma team is proud to be able to continue doing its part to secure the safety of our nation’s food supply. We thank the DLA for this opportunity, and we look forward to continuing to make a difference in our nation’s food security.
