AAPlasma is Awarded DLA Phase I SBIR

Extending Shelf Life of Strawberries, Spinach, Kale and Lettuce via Non-Equilibrium Short-Pulsed Plasma Activated Water Fog

AAPlasma is proud to announce that we have been chosen by the Defense Logistics Agency to receive funding for our project “Extending Shelf Life of Strawberries, Spinach, Kale and Lettuce via Non-Equilibrium Short-Pulsed Plasma Activated Water Fog” as part of their 2018 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) funding.

In this project, AAPlasma will be working with the DLA to develop a non-equilibrium plasma-based solution to safeguard consumers from food-borne pathogens. These pathogens are one of the largest risks to our nation’s food supply and cost the United States a staggering $55,000,000,000 every year!

This problem is much cheaper to prevent than it is to remedy, and AAPlasma is proud to be able to play a part in creating such a prevention method. We thank the DLA for this opportunity, and we look forward to making a difference in our nation’s food security.
